Master Gardeners Annual Bus Trip to River Farm and Mt. Vernon, Alexandria, VA
Both gardens, originally part of George Washington’s original holdings of 5 farms, share his vision of combining glorious landscapes with naturalistic designs, ornamental plantings and gardens for food production. River Farm, now home of American Horticultural Society, promotes horticultural education through display gardens - perennial garden, Wildlife Garden, André Bluemel Meadow, specialty children’s gardens & more.
Special Features – restored Estate House, Ha Ha Wall, former White House Gates, and publication of The American Gardener.
